Great Grandpa Salvatore Ingrassia moved to Rockford with his family in 1902. Salvatore opened the cities second Italian-American grocery store on South Main Street, the humble beginning of the Ingrassia family's retail history.




In 1922 two of Salvatore's sons, grandpa Nunzio and Uncle Joe founded Ingrassia Brothers Furniture and Hardware store a few blocks down South Main Street.



Still further down Main Street, Grandpa Nunzio would open the first Ingrassia Brothers Furniture store and hire several of his children to work with him, including eldest son John. In 1962, the store would relocate to the far east side of State street, and eventually sold to John, sister Carm and husband Leroy Clark.



Carm retires and John becomes sole owner in 1982



Rose Ingrassia-Belida, daughter of John Ingrassia, and husband Brian purchase the business in 1998.

Buy some land on the corner of Newburg and Perryville.

Moved a house.



Built a new store designed by Rose's brother Chris Ingrassia.





Grand opened in 1999 the new Ingrassia Interior Elements!
